How to make black bean brownies

Preheat the oven to 325 degrees.

Grease an 8x8 baking pan with vegetable oil and line it with parchment paper.

In a large bowl, combine the cocoa powder, baking soda, salt, and brown sugar to form a well in the center.

In another bowl, mix the drained and rinsed black beans, eggs, vanilla extract, vegetable oil, and coffee until smooth using an immersion blender.

Pour the wet mixture into the well of the dry ingredients and blend until smooth.

Use a rubber spatula to scrape the bowl clean and pour the mixture into the prepared baking pan.

Sprinkle chocolate chips on top of the batter according to personal preference (3 ounces recommended).

Place the baking pan on the top rack in the center towards the back of the oven.

Bake for about 25 minutes, checking for doneness by pressing the center or using a toothpick test.

Once done, remove the brownies from the oven and let them cool in the pan on a wire rack until cool to the touch.

Slice the brownies with a cold knife for easier cutting, and remove them from the pan using the parchment paper.
