Beef Stroganoff is a classic Russian dish that dates back to the 19th century. It is believed to have been named after the Stroganov family, wealthy merchants in Russia. The dish has evolved over the years and is now popular in many countries, often featuring variations in ingredients and preparation methods. Traditionally, it consists of sautéed beef in a creamy sauce, served over noodles or rice, making it a comforting meal.

Heat oil in a pan on high heat.
Add one piece of chunk meat (about 1 inch thick) to the pan when it's boiling hot.
Continue to add more oil and meat in separate batches to prevent steaming.
Slice 1/2 onion thinly and separate the layers, placing them in the slow cooker.
Mince garlic and add it to the slow cooker.
Add 4 bay leaves, paprika, and steak seasoning to the slow cooker.
Place the browned beef into the slow cooker and add water to extract juices.
Mix 1 tablespoon of beef better than bouillon per cup of water and pour it into the slow cooker.
Set the slow cooker to high for 4 to 5 hours or low for 8 to 10 hours.
When cooking time is almost up, mix 1/4 cup of water with flour and sour cream until blended.
Take 1 cup of hot liquid from the slow cooker and mix it into the sour cream mixture to smooth it out.
Pour the sour cream mixture into the slow cooker and mix it in with the beef.
Leave the slow cooker on high for another 30 minutes after adding the sour cream mixture.
Cook pasta separately during the last 30 minutes and have it ready to serve.
