Mix 150 g icing sugar and 50 g corn starch together.

Sift some of the icing sugar and corn starch mixture over a wooden chopping board.

Place a rectangular cake ring over the chopping board and set aside.

In a pot, add 900 g sugar and 900 g water.

Pour half of the water into the pot and the other half into a bowl.

In the bowl, mix 150 g corn starch with the water until smooth.

Turn on the heat under the pot with sugar and water.

Add 1/2 tsp citric acid to the pot and stir.

Bring the mixture to a boil while stirring constantly.

Once boiling, add the corn starch mixture into the pot.

Continue stirring; the mixture will become white and thicken.

Reduce the heat to low and keep cooking until the mixture loses all of its liquids, which will take approximately 20 minutes.

It is crucial for the mixture to lose all its moisture during this time.

Add red pastry color to the mixture and turn off the heat.

Add rose flavored food oil to the mixture and stir.

Pour the mixture into the cake ring and spread it evenly.

Sift the remaining mixture of corn starch and icing sugar over the top.

Set aside for 5 hours to cool.

After cooling, carefully cut the edges of the mixture.

Remove the cake ring from the set mixture.
