1 cup sugar
1/2 cup honey
3 cups mixed nuts (walnuts, pistachios, almonds)

9 oz ghee (clarified butter)

Start by making the syrup: In a sauté pan, combine 1 cup of water and 1 cup of sugar.

Add 1/2 cup of honey and bring to a simmer for 10 minutes.

Put the syrup in a shallow dish and refrigerate to cool down.

Chop 3 cups of mixed nuts (walnuts, pistachios, almonds) in a food processor with 1/2 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon.

Melt 9 oz of ghee in the microwave.

Prepare the phyllo dough by thawing it at room temperature for at least 2 hours.

Grease a baking sheet and layer half of the phyllo dough on the bottom.

Spread the nut mixture evenly on top of the phyllo dough.

Add the remaining phyllo dough on top, cutting any overlapping edges.

Cut the baklava into squares before baking.

Pour the melted ghee over the baklava.

Bake at 350°F for 1 hour.
