Start with 1 lb of medium deveined and peeled shrimp and add a little bit of pepper, then toss.

For the sauce, combine 1 tbsp white miso paste, 1 tbsp shoyu, 1 tbsp mitten, and 1 tbsp water in a bowl and whisk until well combined.

In a pan, melt 3 tbsp of unsalted butter.

Add the shrimp to the pan. If you don't like the tails, you can remove them.

Cook the shrimp until they start to curl up and become opaque, then flip them over. This takes only a couple of minutes.

Add 4 cloves of finely minced garlic to the shrimp.

Once you can smell the garlic, turn off the heat and add the miso mixture to the pan. Stir to combine.

If the sauce is too thick, add a little bit of water, splash by splash, until it reaches a light glaze consistency.

Top the dish with a little bit of lemon juice before serving.
