Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until a dough forms.
Divide the dough in half and roll out one half to fit a baking dish.
Spread the ground almonds evenly over the rolled-out dough.
Roll out the second half of the dough and place it over the almond filling.
Trim any excess dough and press the edges to seal.
Score the top of the dough with a knife to create a decorative pattern.
Sprinkle sliced almonds on top of the dough.
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
Allow to cool before dusting with powdered sugar and slicing into squares.
