Start by preparing the bread part of the salara.
Measure 4.5 cups of all-purpose flour into a mixing bowl.
Add 1 teaspoon of instant yeast, 1/4 cup of sugar, and 1 teaspoon of salt to the flour.
Add 1 tablespoon of margarine to the mixture.
Pour in warm water gradually and mix until the dough comes together.
Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth.
Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place until it doubles in size.
While the dough is rising, prepare the coconut filling.
Grate 2 coconuts using a fine grater for a finer texture.
In a pot, combine the grated coconut with 1 cup of sugar, and add evaporated milk or condensed milk to moisten it.
Add cinnamon and nutmeg to the coconut mixture for flavor.
Cook the coconut mixture until it becomes juicy and vibrant in color, then let it cool.
Once the dough has risen, roll it out into a rectangle on a floured surface.
Spread the coconut filling evenly over the rolled-out dough.
Roll the dough tightly into a log shape and place it in a greased loaf pan.
Cover the loaf and let it rise again until doubled in size, about 30-45 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
Bake the salara for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
