1

Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C).

2

In a large bowl, combine 3 cups old-fashioned oats, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/3 cup olive oil (or melted coconut oil), and 1/2 cup sunflower seeds.

3

Add 1/2 cup maple syrup to the mixture and mix everything really well, ensuring the oil and syrup soak into the oats.

4

Press down with a spoon to ensure the oats are soaked.

5

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, covering all edges.

6

Dump the granola mixture onto the parchment and spread it evenly across the pan.

7

Bake in the oven for 15 minutes.

8

After 15 minutes, take it out and stir the granola, then spread it back out evenly.

9

Return the granola to the oven for an additional 15 minutes.

10

After the second baking period, take it out and stir again.

11

Let the granola cool on the pan; it will become crispy as it cools.

12

Make a funnel with the parchment paper to easily dump the granola into a mason jar.

13

Store the granola in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two weeks.
