Prepare caramel by mixing 4-5 tablespoons sugar with 2-3 tablespoons water in a pan over medium heat until it melts and turns golden.

Add 2-3 drops of lemon juice to prevent crystallization of sugar.

Pour the caramel into a steaming tin and coat the base evenly before it sets.

Heat 2.5 cups of milk in a pan until warm.

Add 1/4 cup sugar to the warm milk and stir until dissolved.

Remove the milk from heat and add 2 tablespoons of butter and 1/2 tablespoon of vanilla essence, mixing well.

Cut the corners off 2 slices of bread and tear them into small pieces before adding them to the milk mixture.

Beat 3 eggs in a bowl and then add the milk and bread mixture to it, blending everything together.

Strain the mixture through a sieve back into a bowl to remove any solid particles.

Transfer the mixture into the caramel-coated tin, cover with foil, and steam in a pot with water for 40-50 minutes.

Let the pudding cool to room temperature, then chill in the fridge for 2 hours before demolding.
