shrimp

🥗Healthier: wild-caught shrimp

💰Cheaper: frozen shrimp

Wild-caught shrimp may have better flavor and nutritional profile, while frozen shrimp can be more budget-friendly.

Cajun seasoning

🥗Healthier: homemade spice blend

💰Cheaper: store-bought seasoning

Homemade blends can be tailored for health, while store-bought options may be less expensive.

1

In a pot ⅓ or halfway filled with water, add in some salt before placing in the crabs. Cover and boil for 5 – 8 minutes. Take it out from the pot to set aside.

2

Add in the shrimp and cook for 3 minutes uncovered. Then take it out and set aside. Repeat with the mussels, cooking until the shells open. Reserve some of the broth/water for later.

3

In another pan, add in oil and melt the butter. Cook in the garlic until aromatic before mixing in cajun seasoning, oyster sauce, brown sugar, and ½ of the seafood broth (made earlier).

4

Simmer till it slightly thickens. Add in salt and pepper to taste. Add in the squid and cook these for 1 minute before adding the pre-boiled seafoods (shrimps, crab, and mussels), and corn as well.

5

Give this a good mix, cooking for 2 – 3 minutes before serving. Garnish with some spring onions.
