1 lb calamari, cleaned and sliced into rings
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup cornmeal
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
1 cup buttermilk
Vegetable oil for frying
Lemon wedges for serving
Marinara sauce for dipping

In a large bowl, combine the flour, cornmeal, salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper.

Pour the buttermilk into another bowl.

Dip each calamari ring into the buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off, then dredge in the flour mixture until well coated.
