1

Wash the taro leaves thoroughly.

2

Roll the leaves into a log and cut them in half, then cut into strips for easier handling.

3

Chop the leaves into a rough chop, ensuring they are not too big.

4

Place the chopped leaves into a bowl and wash them again with water.

5

Squeeze in the juice of half to one lime and mix well for about a minute to wash the leaves.

6

Drain the leaves and set aside in another bowl.

7

Add green seasoning, flour, yeast, baking powder, turmeric, jeera, salt, and split pea powder to the bowl with the leaves.

8

Mix the ingredients together.

9

Gradually add lukewarm water a little at a time, mixing as you go until the mixture is thicker than cake batter.

10

Cover the mixture and let it rest for 15 minutes to half an hour, or refrigerate to cook the next morning.

11

Heat oil in a frying pan over medium-low heat.

12

Grease your hands with oil to prevent sticking.

13

Take about two tablespoons of the dough and flatten it to about a quarter of an inch thick.

14

Place the patties into the hot oil, ensuring the oil is lightly bubbling and not too hot.

15

Fry the patties until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.

16

Once finished, drain the patties and serve with chutney.
