Today, variations may include different fillings, showcasing the adaptability of this delightful dish.

Sweet potatoes add sweetness and nutrients.
Peel and dice 3.5 small potatoes and add to a pot.
Add 3 garlic cloves and 1/2 teaspoon of salt to the pot with the potatoes.
Add 2 cups of water to the pot and boil until potatoes are tender, about 15 minutes.
In a bowl, combine 2 cups of flour, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, and 1 teaspoon of salt; mix well.
Gradually add 1 cup of water to the flour mixture, mixing until a firm dough forms.
Let the dough rest for a while after kneading.
Once the potatoes are cooked, mash them and add the blended herbs, pepper sauce, and 1/4 teaspoon of cumin.
Divide the dough into small balls and flatten each ball into a circle.
Place a tablespoon of the potato filling in the center of each circle.
Fold the dough over the filling and seal the edges.
Heat about 2 cups of oil in a pot until hot.
Fry the pies in the oil until golden brown, about 5 minutes per side.
