One-Pot Healthy Turkey Bolognese | Easy, Cozy Weeknight Dinner

Heat 1 teaspoon of olive oil in a large Dutch oven over medium heat on the stove top.

Add 1 cup of diced onion and 4-5 crushed garlic cloves. Saute until soft and fragrant.

Push the onion and garlic to one side of the pot.

Add 1 pound of lean ground turkey or ground turkey breast. Season with 1/2 teaspoon of salt and 1/4 teaspoon of pepper.

Fully cook the ground turkey, breaking it up with a spatula until it's fully cooked.

Pour in 1 tablespoon of aged balsamic vinegar, 1/2 teaspoon of dried thyme, 1 teaspoon of dried oregano, and 1 teaspoon of dried basil. Also add 2 tablespoons of tomato paste.

Crush 1 28 oz can of peeled San Marzano tomatoes by hand in a large bowl and pour them into the pot with the other ingredients.

Add 1 15 oz can of tomato sauce and mix everything well.

Add a bay leaf and let everything simmer uncovered for 25 to 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Remove the bay leaf, taste, and adjust the seasoning if needed.
