1 kg lean minced meat
3 slices of bread
2 ¼ cups milk
2 medium onions
3 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons curry powder
½ teaspoon turmeric
salt
vinegar
apricot jam
1 green apple
sultanas
3 eggs

Cook 1 kg of lean minced meat at medium temperature until completely cooked.

Remove the meat from heat and allow it to cool down.

Soak 3 slices of bread in about 2 ¼ cups of milk, using only the soft parts without the crust.

Sauté 2 medium onions in 3 tablespoons of butter until ready.

Add 2 tablespoons of curry powder, ½ teaspoon of turmeric, salt, vinegar, and apricot jam to the onions.

Grate 1 green apple into the mixture and add sultanas (pip-less raisins).

Mix the soaked bread mixture, cooked mince, and sautéed onions together.

Preheat the oven to 180°C.

Add 3 eggs to the remaining milk and mix.

Poke the bobotie to allow the milk mixture to absorb evenly.

Bake for 45 minutes or until the bobotie has solidified.
