Bobotie

200 ml milk
2 slices white bread
olive oil
1 diced onion
2 cloves garlic
600 grams minced meat
2 tbsp curry powder
1 tsp turmeric
pepper
salt
lemon juice
1 chili pepper
2 tbsp brown sugar
2 tbsp macadamia nuts
2 tbsp worcester sauce
2 tbsp fruit chutney
1 tbsp apricot jam
70 grams tomato paste
2 eggs

Pour 200 ml of milk into a bowl.

Add 2 slices of white bread and let it soak.

In a pan, heat olive oil and sauté 1 diced onion and 2 cloves of garlic.

Add 600 grams of minced meat and fry until browned.

Stir in 2 tbsp curry powder, 1 tsp turmeric, pepper, salt, lemon juice, 1 chili pepper, 2 tbsp brown sugar, 2 tbsp macadamia nuts, 2 tbsp worcester sauce, 2 tbsp fruit chutney, 1 tbsp apricot jam, and 70 grams of tomato paste.

Add the soaked bread to the mixture and combine well.

Transfer the mixture to an oven dish.

Mix the remaining milk with 2 eggs and pour over the minced meat mixture.

Add bay leaves on top.

Place in the oven at 180 degrees for 45 minutes.
