1

In a mixing bowl, add 520 g of bread flour, 1/2 cup of white sugar, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 1 tablespoon of yeast, and 1/3 cup of milk powder, and mix all the dry ingredients together.

2

Add 1 fresh egg, 49 g of unsalted butter, 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract, and 1/3 cup of water to the dry ingredients.

3

Gradually add more warm water until a stiff dough is formed, using a total of 1 cup of warm water.

4

Knead the dough for 30 minutes using a mixer, or manually until soft and stretchy.

5

Transfer the dough to a buttered working surface and knead for a few more minutes.

6

Divide the dough into two portions and mold into round shapes.

7

Roll out the dough to improve gluten structure, then pinch the tips to help it stick together.

8

Place the rolled dough into greased loaf pans and cover to rise for 2 hours until doubled in size.

9

Preheat the oven to 250°C and place a small oven-safe bowl with hot water inside to keep the bread moist.

10

Bake the bread for 20 to 25 minutes.

11

Remove from the oven and allow to cool on a cooling rack for 20 minutes, brushing butter on top to keep it moist.
