Start by measuring 400 grams of split peas.

Chop 1 onion, 150 grams of carrot, and 1 celery stick.

Peel and chop 1 potato.

In a large pot, add the chopped vegetables and 1.5 liters of water.

Add the split peas to the pot.

Add the smoked sausage to the pot.

Bring the mixture to a boil.

Once boiling, reduce the heat and let it simmer until the peas are tender.

After cooking, blend the soup until smooth if desired.

Serve the soup hot.
