Shrimp Cocktail

1 cup ketchup
1 tbsp horseradish
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp red pepper sauce
1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
2 cups ice
1 lemon, cut into wedges

In a small bowl, mix ketchup, horseradish, Worcestershire sauce, and red pepper sauce.

Mix this well and refrigerate until just before serving to help the flavors blend.

Look for very fresh and firm shrimp, ideally purchased the day of making the recipe.

Rinse the shrimp.

To peel the shrimp, hold it in your hand and slide your thumbnail under the first layer, taking the legs with it while leaving the tail on.

Using a small knife, make a shallow cut lengthwise down the center of each shrimp and pull it open slightly to remove the vein.

Drop the shrimp into boiling water and let them cook for three to five minutes until they've turned pink.

Be careful not to overcook the shrimp, as they will become tough.
