Chana Pulao

3 cups rice soaked
300 grams chickpeas soaked and boiled
1/4 cup oil
1 large onion sliced
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1 cinnamon stick
2-3 green cardamom
1 black cardamom
2-3 long
1-2 tez patta
salt to taste
2 tsp cumin powder
2 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp ginger garlic paste
4-5 tbsp green chilli paste
1/2 cup yogurt
1 tomato

In a wok, heat 1/4 cup oil over medium heat.

Add sliced onion and sauté until golden brown.

Stir in 1/2 tsp cumin seeds, 1 cinnamon stick, 2-3 green cardamom, 1 black cardamom, 2-3 long, and 1-2 tez patta, and sauté for a minute.

Add salt to taste, 2 tsp cumin powder, and 2 tsp coriander powder, and mix well.

Add 1 tsp ginger garlic paste and 4-5 tbsp green chilli paste, and sauté for a few minutes.

Stir in 1/2 cup yogurt and 1 chopped tomato, and cook until the tomato softens.

Add the boiled chickpeas and soaked rice, and mix everything well.

Add water as needed, cover, and cook until the rice is fully cooked and fluffy.
