Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F).
Chop slivered almonds into smaller pieces.
Combine sugar, softened butter, and water using a Danish whisk until well mixed.
Add chopped almonds, pinch of salt, and cinnamon to the mixture and combine.
Add flour and mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
Scoop the dough onto a lined baking sheet, making 1 to 2 centimeter balls, leaving enough space between each ball.
Bake in the preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes, checking halfway and rotating the pan if necessary.
Remove from the oven when golden brown and let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
