Microwave the flour in 20 second intervals, stirring in between, until it reaches 165 Fahrenheit.

Alternatively, spread the flour on a baking sheet and bake at 350°F for about 12 minutes until it reaches 165 Fahrenheit.

Partially melt 1 cup (226 grams) of unsalted butter in the microwave for about 30 seconds.

In a large bowl, mix the partially melted butter with 1/4 cup (50 grams) of granulated sugar and 1 1/4 cups (275 grams) of light brown sugar until light and fluffy using a hand mixer or stand mixer.
