1 cup cooked pumpkin
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 tablespoon oil
a pinch of salt
1.5 liters oil for frying

Cook the pumpkin in a pot, checking until soft.

In a bowl, combine flour, a pinch of salt, and baking powder; mix well.

Smash the cooked pumpkin in a bowl using a fork.

Add the mashed pumpkin to the dry ingredients and pour in the oil; mix until homogeneous.

If the dough is too sticky, add flour until it no longer sticks to your hands.

Roll out the dough with a roller and cut into desired shapes, traditionally round.

Heat the oil in a frying pan.

Add the sopaipillas to the hot oil and fry until golden brown.

Remove the sopaipillas from the oil with a slotted spoon and place on a preferably oven-proof tray lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.

Add a pinch of salt to the sopaipillas before serving.
