In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, and spices until combined.

Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture, mixing until well incorporated.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
Chill the dough in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to firm up.
Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick.
Cut out shapes using cookie cutters and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden brown.
Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
