Mix warm milk with sugar and yeast in a bowl; let sit until frothy, about 5-10 minutes.
Combine flour and salt in a large mixing bowl.
Add the yeast mixture, melted butter, and eggs to the flour; mix until a dough forms.
Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a greased bowl; cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Punch down the risen dough and divide it into equal pieces.
Shape each piece into a ball and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Make an indentation in the center of each ball and fill with custard.
Cover the buns and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown, about 15-20 minutes.
Remove from the oven and let cool.
Mix powdered sugar with a little water to create a glaze; drizzle over the cooled buns.
Sprinkle coconut flakes on top of the glaze.
