Baked tortilla chips provide a crunchy texture with less fat.
Soak small chickpeas in water overnight, covered with a plate.
The next day, check the chickpeas; they should be well sprouted.
Wash the soaked chickpeas and place them in a pressure cooker to boil until tender.
Chop the onion; the creator suggests grinding it instead of chopping finely.
Prepare the spice mix by combining 1 tablespoon coriander powder, ½ tablespoon turmeric powder, and slightly more than ½ tablespoon red chili powder in a bowl.
Add salt and chaat masala to the spice mix.
Mix in ½ tablespoon amchur powder and some Kashmiri red chili powder to the spice mix.
Add a little water to the spice mix and combine well.
Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a pan, then add ½ tablespoon cumin seeds and 2 pinches of asafoetida.
Once the cumin seeds brown, add the ground onion and mix well.
Add the prepared spice mix to the pan and sauté thoroughly.
If the mixture is too thick, add a little water and mix again.
Cover the pan with a plate to allow the spices to cook well, checking occasionally.
After a few minutes, remove the cover and stir the mixture again, ensuring it doesn't burn.
