Cut 1.5 kg of potatoes into eighths and place them in a pot with cold water and a teaspoon of salt.

2

Boil the potatoes until soft.

3

In a bowl, combine 1 kg of turkey mince, 1 large egg, 2 teaspoons of freshly ground pepper, 1.5 teaspoons of salt, chopped garlic, finely chopped onion, chopped yellow and red peppers, and 3 slices of soaked bread.

4

Mix all the ingredients together without overworking the mixture to avoid it becoming too crumbly.

Transfer the mixture into a 3-liter capacity oven dish, packing it down evenly.

Mash the boiled potatoes with 100 grams of butter, optionally adding a couple of tablespoons of milk and some grated cheddar cheese, and season with nutmeg if desired.
