Today, variations exist globally, with many adapting the recipe to suit local tastes and dietary preferences.

Sift the flour in a bowl.
Add sugar to the sifted flour.
Add milk flavor (or powdered milk if unavailable).
Add salt and ginger powder (or any dry ingredients of your choice).
Add baking powder and mix until well combined.
Add 2 tablespoons of margarine and mix with fingers until a moldable texture is achieved.
Make a well in the center of the mixture and set aside.
In another bowl, add 1 egg and tap water.
If using for commercial purposes, add natural preservative like lemon juice at this point.
Mix everything well and add to the flour mixture.
Mix with fingers until a dough forms, ensuring not to knead it too much.
Cover the dough and allow it to rest for about 10 minutes.
After 10 minutes, move the dough to a work surface and cut it into two equal parts.
Set one half aside and spray flour on the work surface to prevent sticking.
Roll out the dough with a rolling pin until flat.
Fold the dough as demonstrated in the video, sealing it properly at the end.
Slightly roll again without being too hard on the dough.
Cut the dough into pieces about 1 inch apart using a kitchen knife.
Repeat the same process with the other half of the dough.
Heat oil in a deep pan until hot.
Fry the dough pieces in the hot oil, allowing them to behave as they want and flip them around.
After about 3 minutes, flip to cook the other side.
Be patient and do not use too much heat to avoid uneven cooking.
Once golden brown, gently take them out of the hot oil and drain on a strainer.
