Transfer the mixture to a mixing bowl and stir in cumin seeds, turmeric powder, salt, and black pepper.
Fold in chopped coriander leaves and curry leaves.
Add a squeeze of lemon juice and mix well.
Incorporate baking soda into the mixture just before frying.
Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat until hot.
Drop spoonfuls of the mixture into the hot oil, frying in batches.
Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.
Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
Serve hot with chutney or yogurt.
