Today, they have gained popularity worldwide, inspiring variations in toppings and flavors, while still honoring their classic roots.

In a large bowl, combine 200 ml of warm milk and 10 g of dried yeast and mix.
Let the yeast dissolve until activated.
Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and 2 eggs to the mixture and mix well using a spoon, whisk, or mixer.
Gradually add 500 g of all-purpose flour in two parts, adding a pinch of salt in between.
Mix well before adding 100 g of butter and incorporate it fully into the dough.
Once mixed, transfer the dough to a work surface and knead until it forms a ball.
Place the dough back in the bowl, cover it, and let it rest for 1 hour and 30 minutes until doubled in size.
After resting, degas the dough and add 100 g of pearl sugar, mixing to distribute evenly.
On a work surface, continue to mix the dough to ensure the pearl sugar is well incorporated.
Form the dough into a ball and cut it into pieces of about 70 g each for the waffles.
Preheat a waffle iron and lightly oil it.
Place the dough balls in the waffle iron and cook until golden brown, checking for doneness after a few minutes.
Remove the waffles and place them on a cooling rack to prevent sticking.
