Beef Chili

Cultural Context

Chili is a staple of American cuisine, particularly in the southwestern United States. It is often associated with Tex-Mex cuisine and is a popular dish at gatherings, cook-offs, and sporting events. Variations exist, with some regions adding ingredients like corn or different types of meat. Chili's origins are debated, with influences from Mexican and Native American cooking.

5

Once browned, add in ground meat and brown it up as well.

7

Add three different types of canned tomatoes: crushed, whole plum, and diced.

8

Add in three different kinds of beans: black beans, Pinto beans, and kidney beans.

9

Add seasonings: cumin, paprika, a little bit of chili powder, Le and Parn seasoning, Tabasco, salt, and pepper.
