Milk chocolate has its roots in Europe, particularly in Switzerland, where it was first developed in the 19th century. It quickly became a beloved treat due to its creamy texture and sweet flavor, appealing to a wide audience. Today, milk chocolate is enjoyed globally, with countless variations and brands, making it a staple in confectionery.
Heat a pot filled with water about a third of the way on medium-high heat to create a double boiler.
Place a large Pyrex bowl (or metal bowl) on top of the pot without letting the water touch the bowl.
Add 1/2 cup cocoa butter to the bowl and let it melt, stirring occasionally.
Once melted, reduce the heat to medium-low and add 1/3 cup cocoa powder, stirring to combine.
Turn off the heat and add 3 tablespoons of milk powder, mixing until incorporated.
Gradually add in 3/4 cup powdered sugar, starting with half, and continue stirring until smooth, about 5 minutes.
Remove the bowl from the heat and place it on the table to cool, stirring for another 5 minutes.
Pour the chocolate mixture into molds, scraping the bowl to get all the chocolate out.
Let the chocolate sit at room temperature for 30-40 minutes before placing it in the refrigerator for another 30-60 minutes to set.
Once set, remove the chocolate from the molds and enjoy.
