Line an 8-inch square baking pan with foil.
In a medium heavy-duty saucepan, combine 1 and 1/2 cups granulated sugar, 2/3 cup Nestle Carnation evaporated milk, 2 tbsp butter, and 1/4 teaspoon salt over medium heat.
Bring the mixture to a full rolling boil, stirring constantly for about 4 to 5 minutes.
Remove the saucepan from the heat.
Add 2 cups of miniature marshmallows, 1 and 3/4 cups of Nestle Tollhouse chocolate morsels, 1/2 cup of chopped nuts or walnuts, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the saucepan.
Stir vigorously for 1 minute or until the marshmallows are completely melted.
Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared baking pan.
Refrigerate for 2 hours or until firm.
For thicker fudge, use a 9x5 inch loaf pan and refrigerate for 3 hours.
Lift the fudge from the pan and remove the foil.
Cut into pieces, typically making 48 pieces.
