Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).

Mince 2 cloves of garlic.

Pour 1 cup of lemon juice into a bowl.

Add 1/2 cup of olive oil to the lemon juice.

Mix the minced garlic with the lemon juice and olive oil.

Place the sliced potatoes in a large roasting pan.

Add the chicken pieces on top of the potatoes.

Pour the lemon and garlic mixture over the chicken and potatoes.

Cover the pan with foil and roast for 30 minutes.

Increase the oven temperature to 475°F (245°C) and remove the foil.

Roast for an additional 30 minutes until the chicken is cooked through and golden brown.
