Instructions

  1. 1Mix whole wheat flour and salt in a bowl.
  2. 2Gradually add water and knead until a smooth dough forms.
  3. 3Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  4. 4Divide the dough into equal-sized balls.
  5. 5Flatten each ball slightly and dust with flour.
  6. 6Roll out each ball into a round shape, about 6-8 inches in diameter.
  7. 7Heat a skillet over medium heat until hot.
  8. 8Place the rolled paratha on the skillet and cook until bubbles form, about 1-2 minutes.
  9. 9Flip the paratha and brush with ghee or oil, cooking until golden brown, about 1-2 minutes more.

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup ghee or oil
  • water (as needed)

Instructions

  1. 1In a large mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour and salt.
  2. 2Gradually add water to the flour mixture, kneading until a soft dough forms.
  3. 3Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  4. 4Divide the dough into equal-sized balls (about the size of a golf ball).
  5. 5Take one ball of dough and roll it out into a thin circle on a floured surface.
  6. 6Spread a thin layer of ghee or oil over the rolled-out dough.
  7. 7Sprinkle some flour over the ghee/oil and fold the dough in half, then in half again to form a triangle.
  8. 8Roll the triangle out again into a thin paratha shape.
  9. 9Heat a skillet or tawa over medium heat and place the rolled paratha on it.
  10. 10Cook for 1-2 minutes on each side, applying ghee or oil as needed, until golden brown and crispy.

  8. 8Repeat the process for the remaining dough portions.
  9. 9Serve hot with yogurt, pickles, or curry of your choice.
