Cultural Context

Originating from Indonesia, tempeh has become a popular meat substitute in vegan and vegetarian diets around the world. Its nutty flavor and firm texture make it an excellent candidate for creating plant-based bacon alternatives. Smoky tempeh bacon is celebrated for its versatility and can be used in various dishes, from breakfast plates to sandwiches. As more people seek plant-based options, this dish has gained traction in modern cooking, appealing to both vegans and non-vegans alike.
