Easy Focaccia Bread Recipe

Focaccia originates from ancient Rome, where it was a staple for both the rich and the poor. Traditionally, it was baked in the ashes of the hearth and enjoyed with various toppings. Today, Focaccia is celebrated for its versatility and is often served as an appetizer or side dish across Italy and beyond, with countless regional variations.

Avocado oil is healthier while vegetable oil is more budget-friendly.

๐ฐCheaper: grated pecorino
Nutritional yeast is dairy-free while pecorino is a less expensive cheese.
Heat olive oil with minced garlic and chopped herbs (rosemary and thyme).
Let the infused olive oil cool.
Combine warm water, yeast, and a little sugar in a bowl.
Once the mixture is foamy, stir in 1 cup of flour and a quarter cup of the infused olive oil.
Let that sit for five minutes.
Stir in the remaining 1.5 cups of flour and salt.
Knead the dough about 10 to 15 times to form a ball.
Add extra olive oil to a clean bowl and toss in the dough.
Cover the bowl and let it sit until doubled in size.
Add a couple of tablespoons of the garlicky oil to a baking dish.
Empty the dough into the dish and spread it out.
Use fingers to create dimples in the dough.
Spread the rest of the olive oil over the top of the dough.
Let the dough sit for another 20 to 30 minutes before baking.
Bake until golden brown.
