Easy No-Knead Focaccia Bread Recipe

Focaccia originates from ancient Rome, where it was a staple for both the rich and the poor. Traditionally, it was baked in the ashes of the hearth and enjoyed with various toppings. Today, Focaccia is celebrated for its versatility and is often served as an appetizer or side dish across Italy and beyond, with countless regional variations.

olive oil

Avocado oil is healthier while vegetable oil is more budget-friendly.
parmesan cheese

๐ฐCheaper: grated pecorino
Nutritional yeast is dairy-free while pecorino is a less expensive cheese.
Mix bread flour, instant yeast, and salt in a large bowl.
Add sugar and stir to combine the dry ingredients.
Roast 2 bulbs of garlic at 400ยฐF for about 30 minutes until golden brown, then squeeze the cloves into a bowl.
Add blood temperature water to the dry ingredients and mix with a fork.
Pour in 1/4 cup of olive oil and coat the dough with it.
Cover the bowl and let the dough ferment at room temperature for 12 to 18 hours.
After fermentation, stretch and pull the dough to knock out air bubbles.
Grease a 9x13 pan with olive oil and transfer the dough into the pan, seam side down.
Stretch the dough to fit the corners of the pan and cover with cling wrap and a tea towel.
Let the dough ferment again for 4 to 6 hours.
Dimple the dough with oiled fingers and sprinkle with chopped rosemary before baking.
