How to Make Delicious Belgian Buns / Party Buns!

Cultural Context
Belgian Buns, originating from Belgium, are sweet, enriched yeast buns often enjoyed during festive occasions. Traditionally, they are filled with currants and flavored with spices, reflecting the country's rich baking heritage. Today, variations can be found across Europe, with many enjoying them as a delightful treat for breakfast or tea.
Heat 60g butter with the milk to 37c.
Sift the flour into a large bowl, add the yeast and the sugar and mix together.
Make a well in the middle.
Place the egg, 60g softened butter and milk mixture in the well and mix all together.
Then mix with a dough hook on a low speed for about 15 minutes.
Place a cloth over the bowl and leave to rise for 1 hour.
Once risen (and doubled in size) pour out onto a floured surface. Roll out into a large rectangle. Spread the lemon curd over all of the dough and sprinkle the raisins over the top.
Roll it up and then slice into 12 equal pieces.
Place on a baking tray lined with baking paper.
Cover with a towel and allow to rise for a further 25 minutes.
Preheat oven to 200c.
Bake in the centre of the oven for 15-17 minutes.
Remove from oven and allow to cool before icing.
Mix icing sugar and water to a thick paste and spoon over the top of each bun. Place half a cherry on each bun.
