1 & 1/2 cups dry chickpeas / chana / kabuli chana / chole soaked overnight
3-4 green cardamom
3 cloves / laung
2 bay leaves
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon powder or 1/2 inch cinnamon stick
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg powder / jaiphal
salt
pinch of baking soda
500 ml water
2 tablespoon tea powder
1 tablespoon jeera powder
1 tablespoon coriander powder
1 tablespoon red chilly powder ( adjust as needed )
1/4 teaspoon pepper powder
1 large onion - pureed - 2 cups
1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste
4 medium tomatoes pureed - 2 cups
1 green chilly
hot water ( to adjust consistency )
1/2 teaspoon kasuri methi or dried fenugreek leaves
1/2 teaspoon garam masala
1/4 cup chopped coriander leaves or cilantro
