Crunchy Roasted Chickpeas

Today, crunchy roasted chickpeas are enjoyed worldwide, often seasoned with various spices to suit different palates.

Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
Drain and rinse the canned chickpeas under cold water to remove the canned water.
Spread the chickpeas on a clean kitchen towel and pat them dry as much as possible.
Transfer the dried chickpeas to a cookie tray without adding any oil.
Bake the chickpeas in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, checking them at 15 minutes to avoid burning.
After baking, toss the chickpeas with a small amount of olive oil just enough to coat them.
Add your choice of spices to the chickpeas and toss again so the spices stick.
Return the chickpeas to the oven for another 10-15 minutes until they are crunchy.
Optionally, drizzle with honey for added sweetness before serving.
