Heat milk in a large saucepan over medium heat until it begins to simmer.

Add sugar to the milk and stir until fully dissolved.

Reduce heat to low and continue cooking, stirring frequently, until the mixture thickens.

Add butter and mix until melted and incorporated.

Stir in cheese and continue to cook, mixing until the cheese melts and blends into the mixture.

Add cardamom, vanilla extract, and salt, stirring well to combine.

Cook the mixture until it pulls away from the sides of the pan, about 10-15 minutes.

Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

Transfer the mixture to a greased surface or parchment paper.

Spread the mixture into an even layer, about 1/2 inch thick.

Allow to cool completely at room temperature until set.

Cut into small squares or desired shapes.

Store in an airtight container at room temperature.
