Today, garlic knots have gained popularity beyond Italian cuisine, appearing on menus worldwide as a beloved snack or appetizer.

Fresh chili provides a vibrant flavor with less heat.
Get 1 cup of water and heat it to between 100 and 110°F.
Add 1 tablespoon of sugar and 1 packet of active dry yeast to the water and whisk to aerate.
Let the mixture sit for about 10 minutes until it blooms and becomes foamy.
In a separate bowl, combine 3 cups of bread flour, 2 teaspoons of kosher salt, and 1 teaspoon of garlic powder using a whisk.
Add 1 teaspoon of olive oil to the yeast mixture and then add about a third to half of the dry ingredients.
Using a dough hook, mix on low speed until combined, then add the remaining dry ingredients and mix again.
If the dough is too dry, add a splash of water until it pulls away from the sides of the bowl.
Knead the dough for about 6 minutes until it bounces back when pressed and is not sticking to the bowl.
Coat the bowl with olive oil and cover with a clean towel, letting it rise for 60 to 90 minutes until doubled in size.
After about 15 minutes of the rise, melt 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter in a small skillet on low heat.
Add Italian seasoning to the melted butter and mix well, allowing it to infuse.
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a log about 14-16 inches long.
Divide the log into even pieces, cutting it in half, then quarters, eighths, and sixteenths.
Roll each piece into a rope and tie it into a knot.
Place the knots on a baking sheet and cover them with a towel, letting them rise for about another hour.
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
Bake the knots in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
Remove from the oven and brush with the melted butter mixture.
Serve warm.
