1 teaspoon garlic powder
2 cups + 2 teaspoons refined flour (maida)
2 teaspoons milk powder
2 teaspoons fresh yeast
2 teaspoons castor sugar
½ teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons + 2 teaspoons butter + for brushing
½ cup grated parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon chopped fresh parsley
Oil for greasing
Milk for brushing

Mix together flour and milk powder in a large mixing bowl. Add yeast, castor sugar and some water and let the yeast activate.

Add salt and sufficient water and knead into a soft dough. Add 2 tablespoons butter and knead again. Set aside to prove for 30-40 minutes.

Knock back the dough, divide into 8 equal portions and shape into balls.

Mix together parmesan cheese, garlic, garlic powder, parsley and 2 teaspoons butter in a bowl.

Roll out dough balls into medium sized thick discs, place a spoonful of cheese mixture in the centre, roll into cylinders and shape into knots.

Preheat oven to 180° C.

Grease a baking tray with some oil and place the prepared garlic knots on it. Set aside to prove for 10-15 minutes.

Brush the knots with some milk, put the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes.

Brush with some butter and serve hot.
