Soak 1 cup moong dal for at least 4 hours or overnight.

Drain and rinse the soaked moong dal thoroughly.

Blend the moong dal with water, ginger, turmeric powder, salt, and a little water until smooth to create a batter.

In a mixing bowl, combine the batter with 1 teaspoon cumin seeds, 1 tablespoon chopped green chili, 1/2 cup chopped onion, 1/2 cup chopped tomato, 1/2 cup grated carrot, 1/2 cup chopped bell pepper, and 1/4 cup chopped coriander leaves. Mix well and adjust salt to taste.

Add 1/2 teaspoon baking soda to the mixture and mix again.

Heat a pan and add oil or butter, spreading it evenly.

Pour 3-4 tablespoons of batter into the pan, spreading it evenly to about 1/2 inch thickness.

Optionally, place thinly sliced vegetables on top of the batter before covering the pan.
