Gather ingredients: milk, flour, salt, baking powder, eggs, sugar, melted butter, cardamom (optional), and vanilla extract (not used in this video).
In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine 150 grams of flour, a few dashes of cardamom, a pinch of salt, and 1 teaspoon of baking powder. Whisk together to combine.
In a separate bowl, add around 230 milliliters (about 1 cup) of milk, crack in 2 large eggs, and whisk together.
Add half a stick of melted butter and 50 grams of sugar to the wet mixture and whisk until combined.
Combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined, leaving it a little lumpy.
Preheat the heart-shaped waffle maker according to its instructions.
Oil the waffle plates with a little vegetable oil or spray.
Pour about half a cup of batter into the preheated waffle maker, close the lid, and cook for 2 to 3 minutes, adjusting the temperature if necessary.
If the batter is uneven, add a little more batter and spread it around the edges.
Once the waffles are done, remove them and add toppings such as yogurt and fresh fruit.
