1

Wash and prep the beef.

2

Soak split peas for about 6 hours.

3

Add beef to a pot with water and boil on medium heat for about 10 to 15 minutes.

4

Drain the water off the beef and wash it well to remove impurities.

5

Add beef and soaked split peas to an Instant Pot.

6

Add green seasoning, steak seasoning, and 1 tablespoon of better than bullion beef base.

7

Pour in hot water, stir, and seal the lid on the Instant Pot; pressure cook for about 25 minutes.

8

In a preheated pot, add oil and then add chopped onions, bell peppers, garlic, and herbs; mix and cook for about 3 minutes.

9

Add ground provisions (cassava, sweet potatoes, edo roots) to the pot, saving ripe plantains for later.

10

Add the beef, split peas, and broth from the Instant Pot to the pot.

11

Add more hot water to ensure enough broth for boiling the ground provisions.

12

Season with pumpkin soup mix, thyme, and habanero peppers; cover and cook until ground provisions are tender.

13

After 10 minutes, add ripe plantains and stir; cover and continue cooking.

14

Add okra to the pot and stir; cover and cook until okra is tender.

15

Add dumplings to the pot and stir; cover and cook for an additional 5 to 8 minutes.
