Mix flour, sugar, and salt in a large bowl.
Dissolve yeast in warm milk and let sit until foamy, about 5 minutes.
Add the yeast mixture to the flour mixture along with melted butter, eggs, and vanilla.
Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth, about 10 minutes.
Let the dough rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
Shape the risen dough into a figure resembling a man or a loaf.
Place the shaped dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Decorate with currants for eyes and almonds for buttons.
Let the dough rise again for about 30 minutes.
Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown, about 25-30 minutes.
Remove from the oven and let cool on a wire rack.
