1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Mix well to ensure the ingredients are evenly distributed.

2

Add egg and warm milk mixture to the dry ingredients while stirring continuously. Keep mixing and kneading it for about 8-10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. The dough should be sticky. Do not add any additional flour.

3

Once the dough is kneaded, divide the dough into two equal parts and wrap it individually on a lightly greased plastic wrap.

4

Let the dough rest in a warm place for about two to three hours or you can keep it in the fridge after the dough is rested.

5

Transfer it back to the floured surface. Then divide it into two equal parts and lightly stretch it until 8 inches in length and 1 inch thick. Then divide it into smaller portions, depending on how big you want your breadsticks to be.

6

Make sure the thickness is uniform throughout.

7

Dip a chopstick into water and use it to make a slight indentation in the middle of each flipped piece of dough.

8

Then overlap the dough. Use another chopstick and slightly press in the middle of the upper dough.

9

Heat oil in a deep frying pan or wok over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully add the rolled dough.

10

Fry the breadsticks in the hot oil by turning it continuously. Fry it for about 1-1:15 minutes, or until they turn golden color and crispy on the outside. Use a silicone tong to remove them from the oil and transfer them to a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.

11

Allow the breadsticks to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy them plain or with your favorite tea or coffee. Dip in the Nutella for a sweet twist!

12

Store any leftover bread sticks in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. To reheat, simply place them in a toaster oven or microwave until warmed through.
