Add 3 cups of fresh tomatoes and 1 liter of water to the pot, stirring to combine.

Let the mixture cook for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the tomatoes break down.

Add 1 tablespoon each of turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, cumin powder, and coriander powder to the pot, along with 5 cups of cooked chickpeas, and mix well.

Reduce the heat to just above a simmer, cover the pot, and let it cook for 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Check the lamb for tenderness; it should be beautifully tender after cooking.
